Iglesias, Monasterios y la Hermosa Ciudad de Oviedo

We've seen so many beautiful and ancient cathedrals and churches that it's hard to keep track of them all. This was a little monastery up in the mountains of Oviedo. It was really pretty and had an outdoor space in the middle for pondering and being outside. We enjoyed taking pictures and walking around it.

Our bus driver, José Lúis, deserves a trophy. He has been managing our huge bus through the tiny streets of Europe and up and down huge mountains. He deserves an MVP award. Here's some photos from the mountains in Oviedo. There's a tiny little church there that is SUPER OLD. To put in perspective, it was 600 years old when Christopher Columbus left for the New World.

The white shark fin looking thing in the middle is our hotel!

This is the super old church

After seeing this church, we walked down the mountain a bit to grab some cute photos and see another old church. Not as old as the first one, but still pretty dated.

Someone's little house

The church wasn't open, so Drake got up on Weston's shoulders to take a look inside and check it out. He stuck his phone through the bars and took some photos of the inside for us all to see.
Coming back down the mountain and back to the hotel, we were set loose to go explore Oviedo. This is the cathedral here. We didn't go inside, but it was beautiful on the outside.

The 23rd was also Prestons birthday! So Stefan, Preston, and I all went to a little Spanish Mexican restaurant and had dinner. We all thought it was really good, but definitely more Spanish than Mexican haha.

Then we kept exploring and found this building with three door handles. Moor than enough to go around haha.

Then Stefan realized the light was hitting me just right for me to look angelic, so the boys made me a halo to match.

They also decided that they wanted to put their boy scout skills to the test, so they made a whatever type of carry this is and carried me down the stairs. Not complaining haha.

Overall, Oviedo was a ton of fun. Wish we had more time here, but even though it was short lived it was AWESOME.
