Cangus de Onis y Covadonga

On our way to Santander we stopped in Cangus de Onis to eat lunch and then stopped again in Covadonga to check out the Santas Cuevas and a beautiful Basilica. First are the Cangus de Onis photos.

We had a picnic lunch next to this huge bridge in the middle of the little town. Sooo picturesque. It was absolutely gorgeous, and the water was so clear. You could see right to the bottom.

After eating we got on the bus and headed out to Covadonga to see the Santa Cuevas and the Basilica. I don't totally remember the story about the Santa Cuevas, but it's something about Mary appearing to someone in these caves. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside the cave, but rest assured - it was beautiful. It was like this little cathedral church worship cite carved into the side of a mountain in this huge cave. Super beautiful.

Check out the goat!

Ness, our affectionately named Nine Euro Selfie Stick, sadly died in Covadonga. We aren't sure what caused her quick and sorry demise, but we're sad to see her go. Enjoy these photos of us trying to figure out what was wrong with her and the following video of her funeral.
